About our scanner (for site owners)

Our scanner is a headless Chromium browser that identifies itself with a user agent containing TabToCartBot/1.0 and a link to this page.

• It runs when a user requests a scan or monitoring of a store, and once a month on a sample of French online stores for an anonymous statistical barometer: results are only published in aggregate and no store is ever named. For the barometer, a robots.txt that disallows the whole site is respected.
• A scan loads a limited number of pages sequentially (typically 7 to 60), once a day at most for the purchase journey.
• It never submits payment or order forms and never creates accounts.
• It does not download media files and ignores service workers.

Allow-listing

If your checkout uses bot protection, you can allow-list requests whose user agent contains TabToCartBot so the journey test can reach the checkout. Otherwise the step is reported as blocked.

Opting out

If you own a domain and do not want it scanned, email hello@tabtocart.com from an address at that domain. We add it to our block list and scans are refused for everyone.
