Magento accessibility checker
Magento / Adobe Commerce accessibility monitoring for the purchase journey
Magento (Adobe Commerce) stores are heavily customised: Luma-based, Hyvä-based or headless front-ends each behave differently, and checkout extensions are common.
How we test Magento / Adobe Commerce stores
- Detects Magento markup and finds product and category pages
- Uses the product add-to-cart button (product-addtocart-button) with the keyboard
- Tests the minicart, then /checkout/cart/ and the checkout shipping step
- Tests field labels, autocomplete, required indicators and validation messages
The test never enters payment details and never places an order.
Common Magento / Adobe Commerce accessibility pitfalls
Knockout-rendered checkout
The Luma checkout renders fields dynamically; custom templates often lose label associations.
Swatches
Configurable product swatches are often not reachable or not announced.
Minicart
The minicart dropdown frequently lacks dialog semantics and focus management.
Keeping a Magento / Adobe Commerce store accessible
- Monitor both desktop and critical mobile breakpoints
- Check one-step-checkout extensions carefully
- Retest after each deployment of static content
